Threads break records while Twitter slumps…

In a plot twist that caught the social media world by storm, Meta, led by Mark Zuckerberg, unleashed its new Twitter alternative called ‘Threads’, and it’s breaking records left and right. 

With an astonishing 30 million sign-ups on its first day, Threads has become the fastest-growing app of all time. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, as it arrives on the scene just as Twitter faces backlash for imposing controversial ‘rate limits’ on unverified users.

Threads, as a partner platform to Instagram, offers a unique proposition for advertisers thanks to its potential user base of 2 billion worldwide. The app’s growth has been nothing short of meteoric, with 50 million sign-ups within a few days of release and now surpassing 100 million members

Threads snatch the title of the fastest-growing app from ChatGPT, which reached 100 million users in two months earlier this year. Meanwhile, Twitter is grappling with its own struggles. Elon Musk’s temporary limits on tweet consumption was aimed at enhancing user experience but inadvertently affected Google’s search crawlers, hindering the search giant’s ability to access Twitter and serve relevant content to users in real time…

It will be interesting to see Twitter bounces back from recent activity. 

Instagram ups its Collaborator feature!

Instagram is stepping up its Collaborator feature, and while it may seem like a minor update compared to its grand product launches, it brings some exciting possibilities. 

Users can now include up to three collaborators on any feed post or Reel, expanding the potential for collaboration. Initially launched in 2021, Collaborative Posts allowed users to share credit with another account for a single post. 

Until now, it was limited to one joint account, but with the latest update, multiple partners can contribute to a single post or Reel. All collaborators will have access to organic insights, such as view and like counts, fostering greater engagement among users. 

This new feature offers more opportunities to tag and promote friends’ accounts, exposing them to a broader audience. Instagram has been actively introducing collaborative tools, like Collaborative Collections in DMs, to enhance user engagement and strengthen community networks on the app. 

It will now provide a platform to showcase artwork and projects undertaken by friends, regardless of whether they have a business or creator account. 

With Instagram’s expanded Collaborator feature, the possibilities for unity and creative expression are endless.

80% of marketers deem creative quality key to marketing effectiveness!

In the competitive world of marketing, the importance of high-quality creative work is gaining traction. 

According to Marketing Week’s Language of Effectiveness survey – supported by Kantar – a staggering 80% of brand-side marketers believe that creative effectiveness is pivotal to a campaign’s success. In fact, 14% of respondents identified it as the most critical factor, while only 3% dismissed its influence.

The significance of creative quality is increasing, with nearly two-thirds of marketers intensifying their focus on creative in the past year. Whilst B2C has focused on quality creatives to attract consumers in a competitive marketplace, B2B businesses are now seeing greater value in creative effectiveness than they have before, and are now focused on the importance of brand building.

The impact of the pandemic changed consumer behaviour forever, and with so many companies vying for attention, it certainly pays to invest in your creative output to attract consumers.
