We’re on the lookout for a creative Digital Designer to join our growing branding and website agency based in Bolton.

We’re looking for that special someone to work within our expanding creative team. You’ll be working alongside our design and dev teams, making a real difference by pushing creative boundaries, driving innovation and delivering real quality work for our clients.

The Role

As a digital designer at EQ, you’ll spend most of your day working on client projects. You’ll get to work with several different clients in various different industries. The work is fast-paced, with an exciting scope of challenges and responsibilities. The ideal designer will be a team player who can work independently too. You’ll need to hit the ground running, working with a number of different cross-department teams.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate their passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions across multiple digital platforms and touchpoints, including websites, mobile applications or marketing content and campaigns, bespoke platforms, and any other digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigating user experience design requirements for client briefs
  • Developing and conceptualising comprehensive UX design standards and inputting into client strategy across multiple channels
  • Providing advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities in order to analyse and predict user behaviour.
  • Producing high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes.
  • Testing elements such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages.
  • Creating pixel-perfect PSDs
  • Providing detailed briefs to the development team, ensuring solutions are optimised for integration, performance, usability and sustainability.
  • Collaborating with marketing teams, clients, internal and external teams to ensure the creation and delivery of digital requirements tailored to each client.
  • Create designs to improve the customer experience that is consistent with the customer brand.
  • Working alongside a number of multi-disciplined individuals tasked with helping bring our clients brand and products to life online.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Emotional Intelligence (of course). Your EQ needs to be ‘top-drawer’.
  • 3+ years experience designing front end user interface web solutions using industry-standard design tools (i.e. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and XD).
  • Experience working on web, mobile or platform projects with a detailed understanding of responsive design elements, considerations and limitations for different browsers and devices.
  • Self-starting, with a proven ability to take ownership of results and drive change.
  • A basic working knowledge of CSS, HTML and CMS systems such as WordPress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management and organisational skills. Ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a commercial environment.
  • Previous experience working directly with clients to take briefs and comfortable with presenting work and receive feedback is essential.

The Role
Taking the helm as our Head of Development means nurturing and managing various development projects across several different clients in multiple industries. You’ll understand and get under the skin of a client’s specific business objectives.

The work is fast-paced, with an impressive scope of challenges and responsibilities. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a range of technical abilities, good communication skills, and the determination to overcome any technical challenge. Most importantly, you will be motivated to take ownership of solutions and deliver great quality work on time, with minimal bugs.
