Getting to know Ibby

We’d like to introduce you to one of our new talented team members, Ibby!

A wizard in creating unique web experiences and crafting bespoke digital solutions, we’re incredibly excited to welcome Ibby to our team!

We can’t wait to see how his dynamic approach to web and app design will transform the way we work, but we’re really looking forward to taking him on at a game of snooker!

Hey Ibby! how did you get started in this job role?

My journey into the field of web development began during my university days when I initially aspired to become a computer technician. However, my path took a different turn when I learned about all the different courses available. It made me realise that web development was more suited to what I wanted to do.

My introduction to computers and technology happened at a young age when I started helping my uncle with computer troubleshooting and repairs over the summers. This early experience was great for me. My decision to pursue web development reflects my genuine passion for technology, leading me to my current role as a web developer.

How long have you been developing for?

I ventured on my web development back in 2013, and that’s where my passion for coding started. Fast forward to today, and I’m thrilled to be part of the ThinkEQ team, bringing my years of experience and enthusiasm for web development to the table!

Where were you previously?

Before joining ThinkEQ, I was working in-house at a company dedicated to bridging the gap between university life and the professional world. My role was all about crafting interactive app portals and web spaces that empowered students to transition to real-world careers.

It was great to see users benefit from the systems I created. Now, I’m excited to bring that experience and my passion for web development to ThinkEQ.

What coding languages or tools are your absolute favourites for web development?

When it comes to coding languages and tools, PHP and JavaScript are my absolute favourites! PHP is brilliant for conducting data and functionality features to create dynamic web experiences. JavaScript, on the other hand, is the magic behind interactive and responsive web pages.

How do you stay up-to-date with the ever-evolving web development trends and technologies?

Staying ahead in the dynamic industry of web development takes time and effort. I try to stay up-to-date with all the latest trends through YouTube, where I dive into engaging tutorials and learn from experts, various subscriptions that keep me in the loop with cutting-edge updates, and blog articles that provide unique perspectives on new technologies.

In your opinion, what’s the most exciting aspect of web development in today’s digital landscape?

For me, the best part of web development today is the opportunity to craft bespoke experiences that stand out. What makes it even more exciting is the challenge of taking existing concepts or solutions and elevating them to new heights. It’s like a puzzle where I get to unravel complexities, analyse user feedback, and reimagine designs to make them better, fresher, and more innovative

What are you most looking forward to at ThinkEQ?

I’m most looking forward to building fantastic apps for our clients. One in particular comes to mind, they’re called Marshall Eye and they specialise in fire training. The idea for the app is to allow organisations to plan and coordinate their fire response teams in the event of drills or a real-life scenario. The app allows teams to select an area or role at the point of a fire event, this is done digitally on a phone or tablet, and it will let everyone else on the Fire Response Team see what has been selected and who has selected them in real-time.

Using cutting-edge technologies to craft something extraordinary, such as JavaScript, HTML & PHP is just brilliant to me. I really like working with the team, we’re in the discovery phases right now and finding out what we can learn from each other.

What types of projects do you undertake, and what are the typical project goals and objectives?

I specialise in projects that primarily focus on app development and creating systems that seamlessly integrate multiple third-party services. These projects aim to achieve the goals of delivering excellent user experience and securing the flawless functionality of digital solutions.

Whether it’s crafting apps or building websites, my work revolves around maintaining a high standard all the time!

What does a typical day look like for you?

My day kicks off with a team meeting where we align our objectives and set the stage for the day’s tasks. We dive into project catch-ups, dissecting the progress and fine-tuning our strategies. The real magic unfolds as we collaborate, brainstorming ideas and solutions that breathe life into our projects. Then, I roll up my sleeves and get to the exciting part – working on web projects where creativity meets code.

Can you share a fun fact about yourself that the team might not know yet?

Well, here’s a bit about me that the team might find amusing. When I’m not immersed in work, you’ll often find me enjoying a game of snooker, staying updated on the latest gadget trends, diving into epic adventures on my trusty PS5, or on the hunt for new dessert shops to satisfy my sweet tooth!

We’re absolutely delighted to have Ibby on board and can’t wait to start collaborating. Welcome to the team bud!
