The Market Place Shopping Centre is the catalyst for Bolton’s increasing leisure and night time economy.
The venue won the Best Large Commercial Building category at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) North West Awards.
The venue has undergone a transformational, two year, £20 million refurbishment. The original Victorian Vaults have been restored and imaginatively opened up to create a contemporary retail and leisure destination in the heart of Bolton.
We were tasked with redesigning and redeveloping the website with a fully optimised mobile site, whilst integrating a previously separate website for The Vaults.
Our tailored workshops with key stakeholders meant we were able to create user stories which helped us to establish a user journey for each audience group.
After taking the client’s brief, we created an unconventional side-scrolling website and designed a unique user experience to complement the offline visitor experience. The result is a truly unique website that equals the personality of the ambitious Market Place goals, whilst maintaining an emphasis on the building’s heritage and history.
We have continued our relationship with Market Place through ongoing web support. By interpreting analytical data, we are able to report and recommend continuing growth-driven website enhancements and strengthen the website to meet evolving user needs.
‘We wanted to choose a local agency to deliver this exciting campaign for the centre. We were impressed with EQ’s reputation and as soon as we met the team we knew instantly they would be a great partner for Market Place, sharing our vision for innovation and growth in Bolton. The work they have achieved is outstanding and the team has been a pleasure to work with.’
When comparing 2017 to 2018 stats, the new website was a big success.
